 1.  Travel Alone, Eva
Wahlstedt, Viola New York, New York Holt, Rinehart and Winston 1966 Hard Cover Very Good Very Good Walter Ferro (Jacket Illustration)
; 158 pages; Appears to be first edition of English translation (stated by insert-card on back of title page); Translated from Swedish by Nancy Swenson Leupold; Book block tight with no names or marginalia (top-right corner from pg 143 has feint mark, very small); Boards are yellow with small illustration of a flower on the front board, title is in brown on spine (four small nicks); Unfaded pictorial dust-jacket is tanned on spine with title clearly seen, and modest shelf wear including small nicks at edge; We have placed the dust-jacket in a protective, removable, clear mylar cover; .....(A rarity among romantic novels, this challenging story takes a clear-eyed look at reality, disillusionment and maturity while featuring a young Swedish girl named Eva. Part of the story shows how delighted Eva is when her older sister becomes engaged to a French refugee in Stockholm near the end of World War II, but just before the wedding Eva gets to meet Marcel's family for the first time, leaving her with a bewildering change of attitude towards her sister's finacee. She begins to find deception and disillusionment in others, however it soon reveals unpleasant aspects of her own nature, and proves to be a basis for perceptible maturing. Has gentle humor pervaded by a strong sense of the French countryside.)
