The listed contents are: Adaptation as a Frame of Reference, The Jasper Region of Western Canada, Jasper Culture, Jasper Economy, The Indians, The Ranchers, The Farmers, The Hutterites, Cooperation and Competition in Agricultural Production, and Adaptation and Change, the Index.)

Open At the Top: Reflections on U.S. - Canada Relations (SIGNED BY AUTHOR) Minifie, James M., O.B.E. LL.D. Toronto, ON, Canada McClelland and Stewart Limited 1964 First Edition Hardcover Very Good Very Good Book 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall Jacket Photograph of Nicholas II Signed by Author(s) ; 194 pages with index; First printing; Textblock is tight with no internal markings save for former owners bookplate neatly placed to front paste-down endpaper & marketing label for the author (placed to back paste-down endpaper); SIGNED BY AUTHOR on front-free endpaper with date of Jan 12, 1965 at top right; Blue cloth covered boards with title in silver; Unfaded pictorial dust-jacket with shelf & edge wear including light tanning/some pieces missing from edges (with small close tears); We have placed the dust-jacket in a protective, removable, clear mylar cover; . (This was not a thesis which endeared the author, Mr. Minifie to leaders on either side of the border, however his case is well documented and is a valuable reference (looking back and to the future) to Canadians and Americans who wish to understand the discussed issues. The author was a lifetime student of the Canadian-American relations and a Washington correspondent for the C.B.C. at time of printing, and he suggested that there was a shocking lack of intelligence and sophistication in the conduct of their relations which threatened not only the development of North America, but the structure of the whole western alliance. Stating that Canada should act more independently of the United States, Minifie said that shortsighted American policies and a lack of knowledge or interest in the legitimate aspirations of Canada are contributing to the reduction of a friendly but independent northern neighbor to the status of a satellite, if not indeed to its ultimate disintegration.)
